Cooperations
Collective research into power plant technologies
In cooperation with university chairs and institutes, Hitachi, Ltd. and Hitachi Power Europe GmbH are sponsoring research into ultra-modern power plant technology to the tune of around EUR 30 million. Our partners include RWTH Aachen, the Ruhr University of Bochum and the TU Dortmund.
Research cooperation in North Rhine Westphalia is focused on:
- Techniques for precipitating CO2 from power plant flue gases: engineering, design and experimental investigations
- Examination into fuels and ashes for the design of new power plant processes: small-scale combustion tests, computational models for power plant design
- Oxyfuel combustion: measurements of gas components in the flame zone; cooperation in the "Future Replacement Fuels" research project
- Support given to guest research work at various university chairs in NRW.
