Diversity and Sustainability Perceived as a Chance
Companies not only have a commercial but also an ecological and social responsibility. Ideally, these three pillars - economy, ecology and social capital - are in accord with one another. This goal is today accepted in the business world as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Acting responsibly in a corporate manner is also something quite natural for Hitachi Power Europe - whether in social or ecological matters. Thus through R&D our company is making a prime contribution to tomorrow's generation of power plants needing considerably less fuel which, in turn, means saving on valuable resources.
Hitachi Power Europe has also signed the "Charta of Diversity". This international initiative intends to ensure that equality of chance is also applicable to people with a migration background. As a multi-cultural company operating in a host of countries, a prerequisite for Hitachi Power Europe is having a working environment that is exclusion-free.
We, as a company with head offices in Duisburg and related companies in, for instance, Darmstadt und Meerane, naturally give support to local and regional activities. For example, Hitachi Power Europe is the main sponsor of the Duisburg Inner Harbor Running Race. We also regularly support charitable organizations such as the "Duisburger Tafel", "Oberhausener Tafel", "Friedensdorf International" and "Kinderdorf Rio"..
We emphatically look upon corporate social responsibility as a chance - in the same way as our Hitachi, Ltd. parent company does. Detailed information on CSR activities throughout the entire Hitachi Group can be found here under: http://www.hitachi.com/csr
