As a well-established boilermaker and pressure part manufacturer, Meeraner Dampfkesselbau GmbH (MDKB) enjoys an excellent reputation in the power plant industry. The company, with head offices in Sachsen, has a workforce of around 200. The Hitachi Power Europe subsidiary includes in its manufacturing programme pressure parts for steam generators, finned tube walls, heat recovery equipment, attemperators and industrial boilers.

These high-grade components are of benefit not only to Hitachi Power Europe for its plants. Other companies also make use of MDKB's know-how and products. Their principal customers include all the well-known national and international public utilities and plant constructors, private boiler operators, industrial power plants and municipal operators. At the same time, the Hitachi subsidiary serves a wide client spectrum in the steel industry.

The manufacturing and processing of components able to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures, is vitally necessary for the latest generation of highly efficient power plants.
